Just A Few Words From Mr. Z

We are entering October, parent teacher conferences are around the corner. Please make sure you have yours scheduled. The school routines are continuing to go well. The teachers have been meeting to determine the best course of action for instruction as well as interventions during our WIN times. We are adjusting WIN time activities based on the recent I-Ready results. Students are getting what they need to succeed.

Parking Lot Safety Reminder: Please use the official pickup line rather than parking; following our intended traffic pattern helps keep all students safe.

Multi-School Families: District dismissal routines are running smoothly! If you have students in different buildings, we strongly recommend using our bus transfer system. Contact the Transportation Department today to enroll.

The students continue to be excited and eager to be at their new school! We are so glad you are here!

🛑 New Traffic Pattern: Please note that we have a new traffic pattern in our parking lot this year. Please refer to the attached diagram/picture to familiarize yourself with the route!

☀️ Morning Schedule & Drop-Off

Breakfast will be served in the gym/cafeteria for all Kincheloe students as soon as they arrive in the morning.

8:10 AM Transfer Student Drop-Off: Dedicated drop-off time for:

Students who need to take transfer buses to Sister Lakes or Justus Gage.

Kincheloe students who have a sibling attending another elementary school in the district.

8:25 Transfer Busses depart

8:35 AM Regular Car Drop-Off: Drop-off time for all other Kincheloe students.

8:40 Buses arrive from Sister Lakes and Justus Gage

8:50 AM: School officially begins!

🚗 Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

Regular Day Schedule (Dismissal at 3:52 PM)

3:52 PM: The school day ends, and our first round of buses will load and depart.

3:52 - Sister Lakes Transfer Departs

3:56 - Justus Gage Transfer Departs

3:54 PM Kincheloe - Only Car Riders (not waiting for a bus from another school): The car rider line will begin following the same path as the morning drop-off as soon as the first buses depart.

4:00 PM: Transfer buses coming from Justus Gage (will arrive to drop off remaining transfer students and pick up remaining bus riders.)

4:05 PM: Transfer buses coming from Sister Lakes

Note for Sibling Pick-Up: If you are waiting to pick up a student who is arriving on a transfer bus from Sister Lakes or Justus Gage, please try not to enter the car line too early.

Attendance Policy:

Good attendance is vital to student success. Studies show that students who are frequently absent have lower grades, lower self-esteem, and increased behavior problems. We want to help all of our students to be successful and have set up guidelines for attendance. Students are expected to be in school every day possible, but we realize that there are some reasons for absences. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to call by 9:30 am on the day of an absence when a student is absent letting us know the reason for the absence, or you will receive a call. If no call was received, the student must bring a written note from his parent or guardian stating the reason for the absence. Automatic calls will begin at 10:30. If you receive a call in error, please call the school in order for us to figure out the situation.

Please remember to keep us updated with all phone number changes.

Building Highlights

This school year we received another an amazing donation from the Pokagon Tribe and Four Winds! Thanks for the wonderful and useful school supplies! Our students and teachers really appreciate your partnership! Thanks for supporting our Chieftains!

We will be having our change wars October 12th to the 16th.

Please bring in your change to support Breast Cancer Awareness.

The winning class room at each school will get cookies.

Reminders

Reminder: Start time is 8:50 AM and end time is 3:52 PM. When dropping your child off late they must use the front office doors for safety reasons.

Dismissal car riders: To facilitate our line moving along we would like you to load your car on the passenger side nearest the sidewalk. Please remember to use the pick up line and not the parking lot, and buckle up for safety.

Students should bring their own refillable water bottle for the school day. Please label all of your students belongings.
