Sister Lakes Elementary Weekly News

September 27, 2024

Message from the Principal

Some exciting news was shared with the first grade class this week. To better support our students’ learning needs, Sister Lakes will be getting another first grade teacher and splitting the one classroom into two smaller classes. This is such a positive change for our first grade students. This will enhance the learning environment and provide more individualized attention to the students. The new first grade teacher will be Mrs. Alsup who is our current Title 1 paraprofessional. Please help me welcome Mrs. Alsup to her new role!

Students have been working on being good Chieftain HEROs. Please talk to your students about what that means and help encourage positive behavior.

Thank you for such a great start to the 2024-2025 school year!

Dragon Fruit

We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Sister Lakes through stories and new tastes. We listened to a story titled What Can You Do With A Paleta? and then had a discussion on our favorite fruits that we eat at home with our families. One fruit that many of the students hadn't tried was a dragon fruit so we decided to bring one to school and have a taste.
