Message from the Principal

M-STEP testing starts next week! This is the state test that our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be taking. It is important that they get a good nights sleep, and eat a good breakfast!

FITCH CAMP INFORMATION

Fitch Camp: Fitch Camp Registration forms are being sent home to all 2nd-5th grade students. Forms are to be turned into the secretary at each building or scanned to Mr. Turner at, jturner@dowagiacschools.org. Registration will be cut off when we have reached our limit so make sure you get registered sooner rather than later. We will send a message over Facebook when registration is cut off.

Building Highlights

Mrs. Kruckeberg's and Mrs. Hatch's 5th grade classrooms went on a field trip to Sarett Nature Center on 4/8. During the trip, students had a hands on experience learning about pond life and the ecosystem surrounding wet areas.

Staff Shoutout

Mrs. Bingaman is our media specialist. She has made our library a place that fosters the love of reading! Mrs. Bingaman helps the students find books that they can read and will enjoy. She puts the students interests at the heart of the library. Sister Lakes is lucky to have Mrs. Bingaman!

Reminders

Cold weather: Please make sure your student has appropriate outdoor gear to wear during recess. Hats, gloves, and a warm coat. Students go outside for lunch recess everyday unless the temperature is 10 degrees or below.

School Closing Information: If school will be closed or delayed due to inclement weather or any other reason, the district will begin to notify families starting at 5:30 am via automated phone calls. Please make sure that your contact information is up to date with the office.

ATTENDANCE: It is very important that students are in school everyday, but the school realizes that there are some reasons for excused absences. Make sure to call the school and let us know when your student is going to be absent or the school will be calling you. When a student returns to school after any period of absence, please send a note stating the reason for the absences.
