Message from the Principal

Please make sure to check the weather everyday. Students will be going outside for recess and Michigan weather can change drastically from one day to the next. Without snow attire, students have to stay on the pavement to try and keep them dry.

Reminder to our bus rider families: Please make sure that students are at their bus stop, ready to hop on the bus, 5-10 minutes early each day. This helps our drivers to try and keep routes on schedule!!! Thank you!

ATTENDANCE

It is very important that students are in school everyday, but the school realizes that there are some reasons for excused absences. Please make sure to call the school (269-782-4468) and let us know when your student is going to be absent.

*If your student(s) is running late, please bring them to the office and sign them in.

Building Highlights

Pumpkin Book Report

Mrs. Seppala's 3rd grade class completed their pumpkin book report. Students chose their favorite books and decorated the pumpkins with the Main Characters external traits. Students then presented the written report and pumpkin to the class.

Plastic Bag Drive

Bags to Mats (UPDATE)!

Miss Serena is hosting a plastic bag drive, similar to canned food drives. She is trying to get as many plastic bags as possible so she can make mats out of them for the homeless. Whichever class brings the most plastic bags will earn a cupcake party.

Plastic bag mats are beneficial for the homeless because they are waterproof, easy to clean, lightweight, easily transportable, and provides protection from the cold concrete. They can also be used as blankets or pillows.

Miss Serena will put boxes inside of each classroom so that the students can easily place their bags in them. This will last all year. We will end the drive on November 26th at the end of the school day. We hope everyone participates for a chance to win the cupcake party!

Staff Shoutout

Mr. Aiden is our hard working school custodian. He is dedicated to keeping our school clean and safe! Mr. Aiden is always friendly and willing to help students and staff in anyway. Sister Lakes is lucky to have Mr. Aiden!

Project Pajama

The Second Annual Project Pajama fundraiser will run through Friday, December 13. Each school will have a collection box for new, unworn pajamas, which will be donated to families in need.
