Please contact the school to update any contact information so you can stay informed.

Good attendance is a great habit!

Bus Rider Families:

Please ensure you arrive at the bus stop for pickup and are prepared to board the bus 5 to 10 minutes early each day. This will help the drivers maintain their schedule and adhere to the designated routes. Thank you!

Attendance Policy:

Good attendance is vital to student success. Studies show that students who are frequently absent have lower grades, lower self-esteem, and increased behavior problems. We want to help all of our students to be successful and have set up guidelines for attendance. Students are expected to be in school every day possible, but we realize that there are some reasons for absences. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to call by 9:30 am on the day of an absence when a student is absent letting us know the reason for the absence, or you will receive a call. If no call was received, the student must bring a written note from his parent or guardian stating the reason for the absence. Automatic calls will begin at 10:30. If you receive a call in error, please call the school (269-782-4464) in order for us to figure out the situation.

Please remember to keep us updated with all phone number changes so you can stay informed.

Volunteers:

We welcome any and all suggestions and volunteers. You will need to have a volunteer form on file.

Leader Publications Teacher/Staff Spotlight: Melissa Lillie, Kincheloe Elementary

dfdf

Grades/subjects taught: Kindergarten, First and currently Second grade

How many years have you been teaching? How many years have you been with your current school? I have been teaching for 14 years. I have been at my current school for 10 years.

How would your coworkers describe your teaching style and personality? I am organized and have lots of structure and routine, but I also like to have fun with the kids. They would say I have a contagious laugh.  I am fun loving and up to try new things.

Who is your biggest role model and why? My mom is my biggest role model. She taught first grade for 32 years. She raised my sister and I as a single mom.  Now I think,  wow how did she teach all day and come home and do all the nightly routines! She was an amazing teacher and put lots of heart into her teaching.

Reminders

Building Times: Start time is 8:51 AM and end time is 3:47 PM. When dropping your child off late they must use the front office doors for safety reasons.

Dismissal car riders: To facilitate our line moving along we would like you to load your car on the passenger side next to the sidewalk. Please remember to use the pick up line and not the parking lot, and buckle up for safety.

Water Bottles: Students should bring their own refillable water bottle for the school day. Please label all of your students belongings. We have filling stations in the hallways and drinking fountains in every classroom.

Cold and Flu season is here, please remember to wash your hands, drink plenty of fluids, and good nights sleep every night!

The Second Annual Project Pajama fundraiser will run through Friday, December 13. Each school will have a collection box for new, unworn pajamas, which will be donated to families in need.
