Message from the Principal

HERO Store: Our first Hero store is Friday, September 20th. Students have been working hard reviewing, learning and practicing our HERO expectations daily. Hero tickets are earned by students when they are observed doing the right thing. Students then have a monthly opportunity to purchase items with their HERO tickets at the HERO Store.

Please remember the importance of attendance and getting to school on time. Students who miss fewer than two days in September continue to average fewer than two days absent each month.

POPCORN DAY: We need volunteers for popcorn day. We have a popcorn day every month and are always looking for help. Our students love popcorn day!! Please help by completing a volunteer form on line so that you may be approved to come and help! Thank you so much. END OF DAY CALLS and PICK UPS: You must call the office by 3:00 p.m. to make arrangements for your student to go home a different way. This is a policy that we have had in place and unfortunately have to enforce. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

Reminders

OUTSIDE LUNCHES:    The district does not allow outside lunches to be delivered to school for students.

SICK CHILD:  Please call the office and report that you are keeping your child home due to illness. The Cass Van Buren Health Department requires schools to report illnesses every week.

FLIP FLOPS & SANDALS:  Please do not send your student to school with flip flops or sandals.  Tennis shoes are best for this time of year.

Reading is Fun!

Our schools and the Dowagiac District Library have come together to encourage reading. Elementary students who attend the Adventures in Bookland Club (ages 6-8) and Inkwell Explorers Book Club (ages 9-12) will receive Hero Tickets they can use at their school's Hero Store.
