Message from the Principal

As a reminder folks are able to claim tickets with the QR code attached or they can call our box office at (574)235-9988 to claim the free student ticket and purchase any additional tickets.

Important game date reminder: 

Parade will start at 1:15 PM  EST. Please have your child lineup by section 101 if you would like them to go down onto the field prior to the game.

Spring Testing Reminders: As we begin to wrap up state testing for our third  through fourth graders, we will be begin our I-Ready spring benchmark assessments.  These results will help us measure yearly growth for every student and help us determine focus areas needed for next year.  Please remember the importance of having your students to school on time.   A nourishing breakfast is encourage and reminding and supporting your child to do their very best.   Thanks for working together.

HERO Expectations Reminders:  Please remind your student(s) the importance of following and living our HERO expectations.   It's not how we start, but how we finish.   We want each and every student to end on a positive note both academically and socially.  Thanks for working together and holding up your part of the Home-School Compact!

Teacher Appreciation Week:  Teacher Appreciation Week is next week and National Teacher's Appreciation Day is Tuesday, May 5, 2026.   Please remind your student(s) to thank their teachers and support staff on how wonderful our JGage team is!

26-27 Class List Message to Parents  

As we continue to plan for the 26/27 school year, we want to be transparent with families on the process we will be using to build equitable class lists for all students and staff.

To build and balance class lists, our teaching staff and administration we will be looking at the following areas.

Social/Emotional Support Needs

Health Needs

Gender

Learning Styles

Thanks for your understanding and trust in this process.  We are truly very excited for our students as we continue to plan for what will be a very successful 2026-27 school year!

Math-A-Rama:   We are so proud of our Justus Gage third - fifth graders who were selected to participate in the Heritage Southwest ISD county math event today.   Please check out building highlights below for our team members.   Thanks so much to our three chaperones for helping out our students:  Mary Miller, Emily Glynn and Kelsey Parmley.

Breakfast/Lunch Reminders:   As a reminder, caffeinated drinks are not allowed for breakfast and lunch.  Drinks that would fall into this category are energy drinks, coffee and pop.   Thanks for working together in providing a health breakfast and lunch for your student.

 

 

 

 

NO POKEMON or ANY KIND of TRADING CARDS BROUGHT TO SCHOOL!! Please remind your students that no Pokemon or any trading cards are allowed at school. Thanks for working together in keeping everyone's trading cards at home.

ST. FRANCIS OUTREACH FOOD PANTRY: The food pantry at the Catholic Church in Dowagiac on Oak Street is open every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. No necessary forms to complete.

DISMISSAL TIME REMINDER: Please remember to park Northbound on James St., Eastbound on Wayne St. and Southbound on Oak St. when you are picking up your child. GSRP and Kindergarten parents are to use the parking lot which is accessible off of James Street and then please exit onto Wayne St. Thanks for working together in keeping everyone safe.

OUTSIDE LUNCHES:    The district does not allow outside lunches to be delivered to school for students.

SICK CHILD:  Please call the office and report that you are keeping your child home due to illness. The Cass Van Buren Health Department requires schools to report illnesses every week.


FLIP FLOPS & SANDALS:  Please do not send your student to school with flip flops or sandals.  Tennis shoes are best for this time of year.
