Message from the Principal

END OF DAY CALLS and PICK UPS: You must call the office by 3:00 p.m. to make arrangements for your student to go home a different way. This is a policy that we have had in place and unfortunately have to enforce. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

BUS RIDER PARENTS: Please have your student(s) at the bus stop 5-10 minutes early so that our bus drivers can stay on schedule in order for our schools to start on time. Thank you for helping.

TOYS FOR TOTS: We have applications for the Toys for Tots program in our office.

Message from the District Nurse

Medication at school- No prescribed or over the counter medication is allowed at school without the written authorization form completed by the physician.

This includes but is not limited to prescribed medication, inhalers, epi-pens, cough drops, Tylenol, Motrin, and etc. The medication form can be found on our district website under the School Nurse section. Each building has these forms as well. If your child needs or uses any type of medication at school this form must be completed by the physician and submitted to the school with the medication. Students found with medication on him/her are subject to disciplinary actions. These medication forms must be completed for each school year.

Field Trip

Our fifth-grade students recently embarked on a field trip to Fernwood Botanical Gardens. This enriching experience was made possible through a grant from the Dowagiac Conservation Club's Youth Program, which aims to enhance curriculum initiatives related to earth science education.

Reminders

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER: Fall weather is here. Please dig out out your child's fall/winter clothing. Winter hats, gloves, boots and coats will be needed sooner than we want!

OUTSIDE LUNCHES: The district does not allow outside lunches to be delivered to school for students.

SICK CHILD: Please call the office and report that you are keeping your child home due to illness. The Cass Van Buren Health Department requires schools to report illnesses every week.

Project Pajama

The Second Annual Project Pajama fundraiser will run through Friday, December 13. Each school will have a collection box for new, unworn pajamas, which will be donated to families in need.
