Welcome to new staff: Help us welcome Mrs. Amber Todd to the HS Guidance Office! Mrs. Todd has worked and coached volleyball for DUS for several years. We are happy to have her join our DUHS guidance office team. Welcome Mrs. Todd!
Start Time: Classes start at 7:25 am each day.
Where to enter: Door #4 opens at 7:05 each morning for students to enter the building. With the exception of the main office doors, all other entrances will remain locked.
Student Drop off/Bus Parking: Buses use the lot in the front of the building between 6:50-7:15 am and 2:05-2:25 pm each day. Please do not use the front lot for student drop off or pick up between those times. Students who are dropped off should use the east lot and enter through door #4.
Student Drivers: Students who drive to school should park in the east lot and enter through door #4. All vehicles are required to have a parking permit by 9/12/25. Visit the main office to purchase one for $5. We appreciate your cooperation.
Student Schedules: There have been some changes to student schedules to help balance classes. Students can view their schedules on PS. Students are also encouraged to get new copies of their schedules on Monday. Schedules can be picked up at the following locations:
Breakfast and lunch: All students receive a free breakfast and lunch each day. Breakfast is served starting at 7:05.
Important Forms: We need your help to make sure that we have the most up-to-date information on file. Students will bring home several forms including registration/emergency contact, medical, Chromebook forms, etc. It is important that we get them returned to school by the end of the first week.
Chromebooks: Chromebooks will be distributed to students on Wednesday, Aug 27. Please make sure that they bring the Chromebook forms and $20 to cover the required insurance.
VBTC: Van Buren Tech Center classes begin on Tuesday, August 26. On days that we have school and the tech center does not, students can be released by a parent to go home. Please send a note or call to give your permission for them to leave. This typically occurs due to inclement weather, variations of schedule, etc. If you would like to write a note that covers all such occurrences, then please include that in your first permission for release letter.
Cell Phones and Dress Code: Please encourage your sons and daughters to abide by these, and all, school policies starting on the first day of school. Cell phones should not be used during classes.
Safety Drills: Just a reminder that we have several safety drills planned in the days to come. They are just drills to ensure safety.
