CTE Spotlight

Auto Trip to Lansing

On Tuesday April 29th a few of our auto shop students had the opportunity to go to the state capital building for the Michigan CTE Showcase to represent the Dowagiac Automotive Technology Program. These students were able to speak to state legislators and other state leadership about what we offer at the Dowagiac high school, specifically through our Automotive Technology Program. The students were able to highlight specific industry training they earned through the program. They were able to explain what the program offers through each level of the program from Auto I, II, and III. Also, the students were able to discuss what they specifically have learned and gained throughout the program such as certifications and life skills picked up along the way that will help them in their future careers.

Report Card Information

All grade 9 students will participate in the MiCareer Quest field trip at SMC on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. This trip is designed for all students classified as grade 9 and all are expected to participate in the event. They will leave the HS at 11:30 AM on district buses and return at 2:00 PM. Please note that if you have any appointments or need to sign your student out early this day, they will not be in the building that afternoon. We will not be able to release them once they are at the SMC campus. Please plan ahead to avoid any inconvenience.
