Attention 9th Grade Parents/Guardians

All grade 9 students will participate in the MiCareer Quest field trip at SMC on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. This trip is designed for all students classified as grade 9 and all are expected to participate in the event. They will leave the HS at 11:30 AM on district buses and return at 2:00 PM. Please note that if you have any appointments or need to sign your student out early this day, they will not be in the building that afternoon. We will not be able to release them once they are at the SMC campus. Please plan ahead to avoid any inconvenience.

Biology

Students in Mrs. Hackett and Mrs. Ott’s Biology classes took part in March Mammal Madness where they filled out brackets, researching which species had the best adaptations and qualities. Mrs. Ott’s 4th hour had the best point average while Mrs. Hackett’s student AJ Nickens won the competition with an overall 115 points. Other staff and students around the school also took part and watched the bracket unfold in the science hallway.

Tiny House Update

The scaffolds are up! Our students have been working hard on getting the frame of the tiny house structurally sound. Proper construction of the frame is crucial, as it serves to support the entire structure, including the walls, roof, and floor.
