DMS H.E.R.O.E.S. Store

Greetings DMS Chieftains Families,

Great things are always happening at DMS!

Below are a few items that were memorable for the week as well as some things to look forward to.

On Tuesday, September 17th it was Constitution Day at DMS. Students in all grade levels spent time learning about our Constitution through the planned activities their Social Studies Teachers provided them.

We are very proud of all of our student-athletes, as Volleyball, Football and Soccer continue their winning ways both on and off the field this year! Keep up the GREAT work Chieftains!!!

Each week we emphasize one of our H.E.R.O.E.S. positive behavior expectations. Each letter stands for a positive characteristic we want our students to exhibit in school (H=Helpful, E=Engaged, R=Respectful, O=Ownership, E=Empathy, S=Safe). Staff at DMS reward these behaviors by giving students H.E.R.O.E.S. Tickets which can be used to purchase items in our School Store (Thursdays). Students were able to cash in their tickets for the first time last week to buy items they have requested (e.g. t-shirts, fidgets, earbuds, pens, pencils, drawing pads, etc.).

Students at DMS participated in our first Activities Night of the year on Friday, September 20th. They had the opportunity to spend time together listening to music, eating pizza and engaging in a variety of sports activities in our competition gym (e.g. basketball, volleyball, football, frisbee, soccer, etc.). We also want to send out a BIG CHIEFTAIN THANK YOU to all of our staff who stayed after school to help supervise.

We're gearing up and getting thigs ready for Homecoming Week (September 30-October 2) with Spirit Dress Up Days sponsored by our DMS Student Council which we expect to be festive and fun for everyone!

Onward CHIEFTAINS!
