DMS Families,
Students began i-Ready testing this week in both math and reading and should finish by the end of next week. I-Ready is an online learning and assessment system which measures each student's aptitude in both math and reading. From these results, i-Ready develops individualized learning paths based on the individual performance of each student in both math and reading. Periodically, teachers will give students time in class to work on their learning path. Also, teachers may use this test data to develop lessons to meet the academic needs of their classes and make small groups within their classes based on performance scores. In addition, students have the ability to work on their learning path at home as long as they have access to the internet.
If you are dropping your child off at school in the morning please pull up to the sign marked, "Please Pull Up To Here" before allowing your child to exit the vehicle. In addition, all families should use this line to prevent students from crossing the drop-off line which creates an unsafe condition.
Student Chromebooks were distributed last week. If you have not paid the $20 non refundable Insurance Fee (cash or check made payable to Dowagiac Union Schools) please do so as soon as possible. Also, please sign and return the Electronic Use Agreement if you have not done so.
Mark your calendars-Picture Day at DMS will take place on Thursday, September 25th. Order Forms will be sent home with students soon. Please be on the lookout for them.
Thank you for you support!
