Roundup and Upcoming Events:

Hello DMS Families

Our 8th grade students recently completed taking their PSAT8 assessment (Wednesday, April 16th). We had over 99% participation. Students were treated to an "Ice Cream Social" during their 7th hour for their attendance and effort! We would like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our parents/caregivers for helping to get our students to school on time that day! We APPRECIATE YOU!!!

Our DMS/ETS esports Teams continued their playoff run for the MSEL Spring Championship last week. One of our teams was were knocked out of the the second round with our "Elite Team" still in the hunt. We will be back in action with our 3rd Round Playoff game on Thursday, April 24th. Good luck Chieftains!

The last PBIS Activities Night is scheduled for this Friday, April 25th from 4:00-6:00 pm. The cost to attend is $5. Similar to past events, we will have our HEROES Concession Stand available for students who attend. We look forward to seeing everyone for our final all school gathering.

We want to give a BIG CHIEFTAIN SHOUT OUT to our DMS Spring Sports Teams. Our student-athletes are getting it done both on and off the field setting personal bests and winning their competitions. Keep up the GREAT work Chieftains!

ATTENTION 6th & 7th grade parents. We wan to make you aware 6th & 7th grade students will be taking the ELA M-STEP assessment this week in their English classes. Next week, they will engage in taking their Math M-STEP end of year test. To help support your child so they are prepared to "SHOW THEIR BEST," we ask that you please remind them to charge their Chromebook the night before. Also, we ask that you have them get plenty of sleep and eat something in the morning so they have energy to fuel themselves while they are testing (FYI-We have FREE breakfast for all of our students available every morning in our cafeteria.). Thank you for your support!

This week our 8th grade students will be attending an orientation at DUHS. The intent of the visit is to help students become aware of the requirements that are needed for graduation and to begin preparing them for their transition to the high school. We want to thank Mrs. Rimpson (DMS School Counselor) and Mrs. Sellers (DMS Social Worker) and Mrs.Anderson (DUHS School Counselor) for helping to organize this opportunity.

FYI-YEARBOOKS are available to purchase for those interested in picking one up. Please see the QR code found below to place your order.
