Classroom Instruction

Mr. Bob Turner - Math

6th Grade Math is finishing up our Module on Fractions Decimals and Percents!!

We  reviewed the material on Friday and  Monday and will start the test on Tuesday. The test will wrap up the points in the grade book for the 1st Semester!

After finishing this Module we will move on to Computing with Multi-Digit Numbers and Fractions.  We will start the new year out with dividing multi-digit numbers and adding and subtracting multi-digit decimals.

We are working on being responsible students and putting forth effort to get our assignments finished on time.

8th Grade Advanced Wood Shop Project with Mr. Adam Carr

Mrs. Cline - Art

Art 1 completed the House of Cards group activity. This activity is challenging because students could only use note cards to build a house. Tape, glue, and scissors were not available to use, but students could fold, roll, and tear the note cards.

7th Grade Math with Miss Bulifant

This week we wrapped up Module 5: Simplify Linear Expressions. Coming back from Winter Break we will take our Winter iReady Math Diagnostic! Until then, Merry Christmas!

Mr. Webb's Career Exploration class wrapped the year up by creating their own small businesses in groups. Students took up a business role in a company and created a presentation about their product before voting on their favorite. The winner: Rainbow Chicken Chicken Company!

This week, students in Mrs. Deering's ELA classes designed gingerbread people.  After their initial design, students wrote descriptions of their characters on missing posters.  Then Mrs. Deering handed out the written descriptions, and students had to recreate the original design based on another student's writing.  Finally, students had to locate the original gingerbread to see how well their drawing matched based on the written descriptions. Some students did a great job, including specific details, colors, shapes, and designs.  Others learned that they needed to be more specific in their writing.  Overall, it was a fun experience!
