Hello DMS Families,
We want to congratulate our DMS/ETS Esports Team for finishing their season as MSEL Esports East Regional Champions. They won their final 2 matches last week and are now crowned as the BEST middle school esports team in the Eastern United States. We are so proud of all of their effort and good sportsmanship displayed this year! Way to go CHIEFTAINS! We want to also extend a special thank you to Southwestern Michigan College's ETS Program and Coordinator Bethani Eichel for all of their support. We appreciate you!
On Wednesday December 11th families were treated to a special DUS Holiday Band Concert. Everyone enjoyed our students performances under the supervision of 1st year DUS Band Director Mr. Benjamin VanRokel. The evening was festive and showed off the talents of our fantastic student musicians. It was very memorable and we look forward to future concerts in the upcoming months.
We had to cancel the DUS Choir Concert because of inclement weather on Thursday, December 12th. We are HAPPY to ANOUNCE it has been RESCHEDULED for Wednesday, December 18th. The performance will be held in our Performing Arts Center at 7 PM. It won't be an evening you would want to miss. We look forward to seeing everyone.
FYI-Because we share teaching staff with the high school, students will have an adjusted schedule this week (Please see schedule below). Looking ahead, grades for the 2nd Marking Period and Semester 1 will be available in PowerSchool after we come back from vacation the week of January 13th.
When we return from Christmas Break, students will begin the 2nd Semester and 3rd Card Marking Period. As a result, they will receive new schedules. They can accessed through PowerSchool. Please spend some time reviewing this information with your child prior to returning from vacation (Our 1st day back will be Monday, January 6th.)
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
GREAT things are always happening at DMS!
