Hello DMS Families,
Welcome back! We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable Holiday Break. As we jump into the second half of the 2024-25 School Year, we’re excited to see all the great things our students will accomplish.
Winter NWEA Testing begins this week! This test helps give us information about the progress your child is making in both English and Math. To assist us with administering this assessment, please remind your child to get lots of rest the night before and have them bring their Chromebooks to school fully charged. The ELA portion will run from January 13-17, followed by Math from January 21-24.
Winter Sports are officially underway! Girls Basketball and Wrestling practices have started, and we can’t wait to see our athletes in action this season. Also, our DMS Spelling Bee Team is busy practicing for their return to the stage at Southwestern Michigan Collage for the Cass County Spelling Bee. This year's team is being coached by Mrs. Spivey and assisted by Ms. Gil.
Finally, grades have been posted in PowerSchool for the 2nd Card Marking Period and 1st Semester of school year. FYI-Hard copies of student report cards will not be mailed home, as grades can be accessed through PowerSchool. We ask that you please take some time to review your child's performance thus far and celebrate their achievements. We are happy to announce over 200 of our student have earned the privilege of participating in our quarterly Honors Breakfast (having earned a "B" or better in each of their classes) which is scheduled to take place this Friday, January 17th.
We’re looking forward to a productive and successful second half of the year.
